A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the Nonprofit Summit of the Midlands. It was truly a fantastic day filled with incredible speakers and networking with my phenomenal colleagues from various nonprofit agencies. It was a great reminder that Omaha is a truly remarkable community filled with talented, passionate, generous people! One of the most inspirational things that I heard that day was “genius is distributed evenly among zip codes. Opportunity is not”. That was really powerful to hear.
Your support helps Completely KIDS to right that. Because of you, KIDS have access to opportunities in the arts, science, sports, academic support, experiences throughout our incredible community and so much more. Because of you, our families have access to weekend food, mental health services and adult education. It warms my heart to know that Completely KIDS is having a real, tangible impact on ensuring that geniuses across our community have the opportunities to reach their potential.
Thinking about some of those opportunities this month, I had the opportunity to watch a large group of our KIDS playing a homemade drum (thick wood frames with packing tape wrapped around them) in perfect unison through Multiculturalism through Music, a program we hosted. I met about a dozen Junior Leaguers and chatted with them as they prepared for their final Cooking Buddies session this semester and walked into a Teen Employment Program Seminar and chatted with an aspiring dermatologist. For me, walking the halls of Completely KIDS is a source of constant inspiration and hope for the future!
Once again, thank you for all of the ways that you support Completely KIDS! If you had not had a chance to make your year-end gift, please consider continuing your support of Completely KIDS. We are so grateful to have you in our corner.
