Staff Penny ParkerPenny Parker has faithfully guided this organization as the Executive Director since August 1991. “Prior to coming to this organization, I had always worked with many kids and families who were part of the child welfare system,” she says. “I wanted to be in a position where we could focus on prevention services. The mission is why I am here.” She leads a talented and highly-educated, many of whom have advanced degrees in counseling and program administration. “Their commitment to the children and families we serve is a primary reason our organization has become a model for building strong communities.”

Adrielle has been with Completely KIDS since March 2012. She enjoys using her journalism background and skills in written and verbal communications, design and photography to serve children and families at Completely KIDS. Though not a Nebraska native, she’s a Husker fan and loves visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo. Adrielle is married to Drew, and they have a Chihuahua named Mia.

Ann started with Completely KIDS under its former affiliation in May 2002. She served as a Community Outreach Worker and Program Coordinator at Jackson Elementary before moving into her role as a director. “I truly believe in what we do,” Ann says. “I have had the opportunity to see our kids have great successes in their lives, and that makes me proud!” Ann is married and has a competitive spirit on the soccer field.

Nancy joined the Completely KIDS staff as Director of Finance in November 2014. “Completely KIDS has a reputation for being a very well-run and effective agency with a great staff,” she says. “I’m thrilled to be a part of it.” Nancy has been married to her husband Mark for 35-plus years. They have four children and two grandchildren. A unique fact about Nancy is that she has been running with the same friend, Kathy, for nearly 30 years.

Carla has seen the ins and outs of Completely KIDS since starting here in October 1998. She served as a volunteer, Program Support Staff, Program Coordinator (Highland, Washington, Marrs, Norris, Bryan, Teen and Transition programs), Program Specialist and Program Manager prior to her current role. “As I started working at the program, I immediately fell in love with the kids and families, and saw the serious barriers they were challenged with,” Carla says. “My heart has always stayed with the kids and families, and I believe in this organization. I am who I am because of what I have learned while working at Completely KIDS.”  Family is the most important thing to Carla. She is married to her high school sweetheart Steve.

Amy joined Completely KIDS as Director of Development in February 2017 after promoting Omaha’s own historic Joslyn Castle. She says, “Everyone at Completely KIDS is incredibly passionate and committed to the work they are doing with kids and families in our community. Under Penny’s leadership, Completely KIDS has impacted the lives of so many.” Amy is well-versed in plastics, trains, castles, Legos and Star Wars. She is married and has two sons.

Bea comes to Completely KIDS with a diverse human service background, including working and volunteering in the Omaha community since the 1980s. Early in her career, while working for a Head Start program in south Omaha at what is now the Latino Center of the Midlands, she developed a passion for working with bilingual/bicultural children. Bea is committed to the mission of Completely KIDS and is excited “to see the work in action in which children/families and communities learn and grow.” Bea has three grown children and enjoys Saturday morning pottery class with her two oldest grandchildren.

Bill believes that “strong communities are imperative to raising successful families,” and at Completely KIDS, we build community. Bill joined Completely KIDS in January 2011 as Shelter Program Coordinator before his promotion to Program Manager. From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a Child Advocate in a family homeless shelter for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Boston. Bill enjoys running and is a diehard Creighton Bluejays basketball fan.

With 10 years of teaching experience, Joey joined the CK team in February 2017 to continue oversight of the development of Completely KIDS curriculum and staff training modules. As an Omaha native, Joey specifically enjoys “working with the South Omaha community that Completely KIDS focus on” and feels “fortunate to serve the Omaha community as a whole.” On a side note, Joey spent time in Ecuador serving in the Peace Corps and enjoys coaching sports.

Jennifer’s background includes working in a fast-paced human resources environment for a large communications company here in Omaha. She is excited to use her expertise as the Human Resource Manager for Completely KIDS in “an organization that supports children and family services.” Though Jennifer and her husband currently live the big city life, you can’t take the small town out of this Iowa girl. She has three children and says her family is her world.

Prior to joining Completely KIDS as Program Manager in January 2015, Sam worked in the Twin Cities for a nonprofit that partners with low-income public schools to reduce bullying and increase opportunities for healthy living. She’s happy to be combining her experience with her passion for children to work with kids and families at Completely KIDS. Sam is an avid Cyclone fan (she says, “Yes, even in football”). You can also find her curled up with a good book or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen.

Sheila is one of the agency’s long-time employees. Since starting in January 1996, she’s served in the Niños, Wintergreen and Shelter programs, and now oversees the program at Highland. Sheila is married with two daughters and seven grandkids, and you can count on her to cook a fancy feast during the holidays.

Jan began as a volunteer at CK Highland and CK Norris, eventually working his way into a program support staff position and assistant to the program coordinator at the latter school. In November 2015, Jan started working full time for Completely KIDS as the Transition Coordinator. In this role, he develops service learning values and helps elementary school youth transition into middle school. Born in Honduras, Jan enjoys both watching and playing soccer, and is an avid fan of Futbol Club Barcelona. You might also find him out for a morning run, playing a video game or watching a comedy show.

Alyssa is a Southern California girl or SOCal, as it’s known, but not “Cali.” She moved to Omaha several years ago and brings experiences to Completely KIDS from her former position at Abide Omaha. As the CK Marrs Program Coordinator, Alyssa hopes to “empower students and families to reach their full potential.” Alyssa is married to her husband, Mark.

Harris excelled as a program support staff and site assistant at CK Norris before joining the full-time staff as the Program Coordinator at CK Liberty in November 2017. Prior to coming on at Completely KIDS, Harris gained experience serving adults with intellectual disabilities at Mosaic in Omaha and providing resources to at-risk populations in Israel and Palestine. “I want to be a part of something that is partnering with others across our community to bring about equity and social justice,” Harris says about Completely KIDS. Harris is married to wife Elizabeth and enjoys a hot cup of joe over a good book or while watching a Chicago White Sox game.

Shari joined the Completely KIDS team in July 2014 with years of experience in social work and direct service to youth and adults in a variety of settings that include residential, educational and legal. She is excited to take part in moving forward the community schools model at Liberty. “It’s a very progressive idea,” she said. “It’s great to not only work with kids but to feel like the work you’re doing is worthwhile and meaningful in their lives.” Shari is a dog mom to Labrador mix, Sasha.

Jackie started as Program Support Staff with Completely KIDS in December 2013 and was promoted to Program Coordinator over our CK 26 program (at our main building) in May 2014. Jackie says she believes in the holistic approach to the development of youth and families and wants to make the largest impact she can on those she works with. “The greatest joy in my life is seeing a child beam with pride in their accomplishments.” Jackie has one son and a “small army” of pets including three cats, a dog and two mice. She says, “I love all aspects of life, including hardships, because they create a unique balance in my character.”

Katie joined Completely KIDS as the Program Coordinator at Field Club Elementary, bringing with her work experience from the YMCA of Greater Omaha and Omaha Public Schools. The impact Completely KIDS has on the Omaha community left a mark in college when a classmate presented about the agency. “I was amazed at the generosity provided by this agency,” she says. “It truly fits with my beliefs and mindset. I believe that no child or family should miss out on experiences due to financial means or any other disadvantage.” Katie adds to a community of dog lovers at Completely KIDS with her pooch named Beau. On another note, she’s never traveled outside of the United States and spiders are far from friends for Katie.

Katie started as Program Support Staff in November 2009 before coming on as a full-time Program Coordinator in 2012. She loves working with kids, so Completely KIDS is a good fit for her. Katie is a musician, playing both the piano and clarinet, and enjoys attending concerts. She and her husband are parents to two boys.

Before being hired as the Shelter Coordinator, Meg’s history with Completely KIDS includes working as a practicum student and a Program Support Staff for All Saints School and the family program. Quite simply, Meg works for Completely KIDS because of her passion for the kids. “I love interacting with the kids, watching them grow and being a positive role model for them,” she says. Meg completed her capstone project with Completely KIDS at All Saints, which “allowed (her) to get to know the families better and set up a solid foundation for changes in communication and connection to resources for families, All Saints and Completely KIDS.” On a personal note, Meg is an avid Husker football and Creighton basketball fan. If supporting local sports isn’t enough, she also loves to patronize local businesses.

Before piloting our program at All Saints School in fall of 2016, Diran worked at CK Highland as a Program Support Staff and Lead Staff, as well as for our curriculum manager as the Lead Curriculum Team Intern. “Completely KIDS has given me the opportunities to work with kids and help them develop educational and social/emotional skills,” Diran says. He hopes to continue to make a difference in his full-time role at CK All Saints. Personally, Diran comes from a large family, where he’s the third oldest of 8, and the oldest and youngest are only 10 years apart. He’s an avid disc golfer, not to be confused with Frisbee golf or frolf, and enjoys playing soccer.

Lulu is an alumnus of our teen program and served as a practicum student at Field Club before joining Completely KIDS full time as the Shelter Coordinator. In 2017, she transitioned to working with families in a mental health capacity. “Because I was in the program during high school, I know the impact this agency has on kids,” she says. Lulu enjoys spending time with her nieces and her two Pugs, Bentely and Betsy.

Rosalva came into social work after she was laid off from her bank job in 2001. Working part time for Court Appointed Special Advocates, she found her passion and never wanted to return to the corporate world. She became a full-time Volunteer Coordinator at CASA before accepting a position of working with families at Completely KIDS in January 2012. Rosalva was born in Mexico and became a U.S. citizen in 1986 under the Immigration Reform and Control Act. She is married to Ray and they have three kids, Anthony, Gabriel and Leila. She says, “I have always wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle and vow to buy my first Harley when my position of ‘taxi driver’ to my children is no longer needed.”

Julie started as a Program Support Staff at CK Norris in 2013. With her attention-to-detail and organizational skills, she’s now a valuable part of the main Completely KIDS office helping to develop curriculum and ensuring that our Weekend Food Program runs smoothly with proper inventory for each week’s menus. Julie is a Michigan native and a big fan of Michigan State University men’s basketball. In her free time, you might find her in the great outdoors surrounded by trees, or drawing or crafting a gift for a loved one.

After Katti completed her practicum at Completely KIDS, she said she felt her time with the agency was not finished. “I really saw the value in the program and was excited about the position opening up.” In August 2015, she was hired as a Family Specialist to provide case management and classes for families and to connect them with resources in the community. On a personal note, Katti is a vegetarian and boasts about her ability to cook tofu. Her best friend is her Bichon Frise, Echo, whose name she has tattooed on her finger. And despite Katti’s height of 5’11”, she says she is too uncoordinated to play sports.

Before coming on as a full-time program coordinator at CK Norris in August 2016, Veronica worked at our CK Marrs location as a Program Support Staff. She has a great sense of humor, which is a win with the kids and says, “I need to stay current with the coolest stuff and so hanging around middle school students is a sure way to do that.” She is passionate about the work she does at Completely KIDS. Veronica is skilled in a variety of areas: she loves to hula-hoop, was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to Zambia after college and has a goal of becoming a bike commuter in Omaha.

Araceli says, “My passion is to help people and their families. Completely KIDS does a great job strengthening, building leadership and helping minority groups.” In her free time, Araceli enjoys spending time with her son and her dog, Rayo. She is also known to be in the kitchen cooking and baking.

John brings 30 years of experience in office and home maintenance to his role as facilities manager at Completely KIDS. For years, he heard about the work Completely KIDS does to help people and says, “I felt I had the ability to help support the organization.” In his spare time, John enjoys growing a variety of trees and plants in his yard, raises a few chickens and likes to complete woodworking projects.

Sara has been greeting guests when they first arrive to Completely KIDS since 2011. She says, “I love what the agency does for the kids around the community and seeing people help out every way they can.” Sara likes riding horses, boating, camping and taking Champ, her pit bull, on walks. But after a long day in the outdoors, she settles in for a good read.

Kim came from Omaha Public Schools in November 2017, bringing with her secretarial and administrative skills. As a Program Aide for Completely KIDS, Kim will handle all records related to releases of information, Title XX, childcare licensure, incident reports, staff training and curriculum, and applicable audits. Kim says, “I love what Completely KIDS does for the community. I love what they offer not only to children but to the entire family.” Kim is married, has two kids and enjoys settling in for the latest documentary.

Lacey joined the Completely KIDS staff as a Program Coordinator in September 2016, bringing with her experience working with juveniles on probation. In that role, she “noticed a great need for positive role models before youth enter high school.” As Volunteer and Donations Manager for Completely KIDS, Lacey will provide critical support in developing relationships with volunteers, requesting and distributing donations, and much more. Lacey is a dancer, the middle child of three girls and is the dog mom to Gilmore, an 8-year-old American Eskimo Dog mix.

Kayla took over the position as Penny’s right-hand woman in February 2014. She feels “the work done through Completely KIDS is helping to reduce poverty in our community and giving those less fortunate a chance to be successful. The Completely KIDS team is clearly energized and motivated by this mission, and that was something I wanted to be a part of.” In her spare time, Kayla enjoys reading memoirs and historical fiction, and teaches a beginner’s brass class for children ages 9 through 13.
