• Youth Programming

  Youth Outcomes Survey: Completely KIDS in partnership with United Way and Collective for Youth conducts the Youth Outcomes survey in the fall and spring of each school year. Completely KIDS provides curriculum-driven after-school and summer programs where KIDS enhance their learning, improve their skills, gain homework help, enjoy life experiences and have fun!

  We are pleased to report that the downward trend due to the pandemic has reversed. Thing are looking up! The graph represents the percent of KIDS who agreed or strongly agreed to a series of questions in each of the nine categories below.

• Teen Engagement

  The number of teens attending Completely KIDS continues to grow every year. Teens have a special place at headquarters with their own room to hang out in, life skills workshops and fun activities and outings. Through the Teen Employment Program, juniors and seniors in high school can become paid Junior Support Staff, working alongside Program Support Staff and assistants in the schools. Seven of our ten 2022 graduates are attending college, while three are working full time.

• Family Support

  When families do better, KIDS do better! To make a lasting impact, we are committed to our families with growing numbers of adult learners in ESL, GED, Citizenship, and Computers. The graph represents the percent of improvement in six key areas as surveyed by adults in our programs.

• Food Provision

  Completely KIDS continues to meet the growing need of providing weekend food. This is important because of the connection between a child’s hunger and his or her success in school. Bags of food are distributed through our after-school programs and all summer long to combat children’s hunger over the weekend. In addition to growing food insecurity, we have children in 12 locations to whom we provide food, so the need remains great.

• Mental Health Services

  Completely KIDs offers a wide variety of mental health services to our KIDS and families including preventative strategies and traditional therapy. The demand for mental health services continues to grow, in fact it doubled from 2021 to 2022. Completely KIDS hired additional therapists in response.

  Children complete the Behavioral and Emotional Screening System (BESS) questionnaire at the beginning and end of each mental health group session (typically 8 weeks). It measures three risk areas internalizing, externalizing, and personal adjustment and combines them to assign normal risk, elevated risk, and extremely elevated risk.  This pie chart shows the percentage of students who’s scores improved, stayed the same, or declined from pre to post test by session.
