Weekend Food Program

Years ago, Completely KIDS recognized the connection between a child’s hunger and their success in school. In response, we created the Weekend Food Program. Every week, volunteers come together to pack more than 1,300 food bags. These bags, filled with meals and snacks, are then distributed to each KID in our program. For many KIDS, the food they receive through our program is often the only nourishment available to them over the weekend.

Each week, children enrolled in the Weekend Food Program receive a bag filled with shelf-stable meals and nutritious snacks to help bridge the gap between school meals on Friday and breakfast on Monday.

Our dedicated volunteers pack and prepare every bag, ensuring children have reliable access to food when school is not in session.

The Weekend Food Program is one of Completely KIDS’ longest-running initiatives and serves more than 1,300 children every week, providing approximately 47,000 food bags each year.

By helping meet children’s basic nutritional needs, the program allows them to return to school on Monday ready to learn, grow, and succeed.

The Weekend Food Program is available to families of children enrolled at a Completely KIDS program site.

If your child participates in a Completely KIDS program and your family would like to receive weekend food bags, please contact your child’s Program Coordinator to be added to the Weekend Food Program list.

If you are looking for additional food resources or community support, we encourage you to contact us. We’ll be happy to help connect you with available services in the community.

The Weekend Food Program is made possible through the generosity of volunteers, donors, and community partners.

Whether you’d like to volunteer at a packing event, donate food or funds, or organize a collection drive, there are many ways to help ensure local children have access to nutritious food over the weekend.
